Ahh, I see it's been a few months (A FEW?!) since I last posted!
Nothing too exciting, other than the fact that I've lost 21.5 pounds since April! There's an OB-GYN at my gyno's office who came up with a plan called "Fit Weight". She's done a TON of research to see what and how things work best for her patients. My first appointment, she gave me 5 options for how I wanted to do this. The option I went with is Phentermine. I had been on it before through my Primary Care doc and it screwed up my BP, but that's only because I didn't take it regularly. This time I'm more serious about getting myself down to where I should be health-wise. My goal for July is to lose 7 more pounds to finally hit the 200 mark, which would make a total of 28 pounds down in 4 months. Then it's on to my goal weight, which I'm not entirely sure what I want to set it at, but I'm thinking in the 145-150 range. She is a very motivating and positive doctor and the accountability is HUGE!! I just wish this was all covered by insurance. Oh well, that's why I put money aside every month for these type of things.
Had a MAJOR health scare on Friday! I haven't been able to breathe well for a few days and after my weigh-in appointment, I thought I'd check in with my PCP. I thought it was just something minor, but she immediately sent me to the hospital for an EKG and other fun tests. My BP was fine, so I didn't think anything about it being heart-related, but I guess it could have been. Better safe than sorry, especially since heart issues run in my family. Thankfully all the tests showed is that there is inflammation SOMEWHERE. Now to figure out where that SOMEWHERE is! I'm just ready to be able to breathe again without it hurting! Pleurisy is what I self-diagnosed, but I guess it's just a symptom of something else. Ah, that's why I'm NOT a doctor!
At any rate, I am feeling a TON better it terms of my weight! It's SO nice not to be carrying all of THAT around, even if I do have another 50 or so pounds to lose! And it was AWESOME buying a pair of jeans in a smaller size!! My other jeans looked REALLY baggy, even with a belt! And I don't have to shop in the "Plus Size" section of my favorite store now! Now THAT'S some motivation! I will NEVER get back to the size I used to be! It's also a lot of fun having people tell me how GOOD I look!
Goals for July:
1. 7 pounds lost by 7/27 (my next Dr. appointment) - I'd better behave! Not too good this weekend.
2. At least 50,000 steps a week. I'll get a TON on the 4th of July by walking in a parade in the morning and then all over town the rest of the day. I usually try and get in 30 minutes of walking every day at work, too, but it's getting BEASTLY hot now, so it's hard to convince myself to go outside to walk. My "stay-cation" is in 2 weeks, so I'll get some exercise in that week going to Water Aerobics and such.
3. Drink more water! I think with it being as hot as it has been, that should be a no-brainer! Especially with the inflammation lurking somewhere. Water should be my #1 priority!
4. Log in every day on this website! No more 6-month hiatuses!
Have a Marvelous Monday, all!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
