Forced R&R

Friday, June 29, 2018

While R & R is great sometimes I am unhappy with mine right now. Playing golf on Thursday I managed to twist my knee while hunting a teammate's lost ball . The ball went down a hill and the hill was a little slippery. emoticon

I managed to finish the 18 hole tournament while wearing a brace . The brace was so hot on the hot and humid day but my team was great to help me save some steps. I was chipping and putting well and was able to help improve our score so they didn't mind as much. They are a great group!

Since then I have been trying to use the R.I.C.E. method to get back to normal. Rest has been in my DH's recliner, ice wrapped around the knee compressed with the wrap and elevated.

The good news it is getting better. The bad news is I am missing my regular exercise minutes. Was able to do some inside walking today and I think I might try a seated strength workout later.

Stay off the knee until you are completely heal or it might get worse. Try those exercises that you can do sittidown and rest the knee. emoticon

Be kind to that knee, I know I have been dealing with a bum knee for about a month now. Wiith RICE you will hopefully be back on the golf course in no time. The seated routine sounds interesting. Let me know how it goes. emoticon

That's a bummer. You're taking all the right steps to take care of it. Congrats on the good golf game though!! Yes, there are many exercises we can do while seated so I applaud you for taking the initiative. Teddy Bears just never give up!!!
