Twentieth Weekend Fasting Cycle, Duck Confit, Mineral Waters, Brewer's Yeast Chocolate Bar

My weekend fasting went without a hitch. Since I cooked a couple of things, I had to restrain myself from tasting the foods. At the beginning of the year, I would have had a good laugh if someone had told me that I would be fasting for a single day much less 40 days cumulatively. I've reached a biblical milestone cumulatively. I'm not interested in the long-term fasting of anything more than what I'm doing (60-hours).

My strategy is now to eat more on my 5 feasting days to boost my metabolism. I don't even care if I will gain a little weight here for the next few weeks. As long as I can maintain the fast on the weekends I can pretty much eat what I want. I'm taking a little pause here with the focus on weight.

First thing first, Costco haul with mineral waters. I've just found out that Fiji water has high silica content. I'm after high silica foods so Fiji is in. St. Pellegrino has high sulfate. So it got in too.


First of my attempt at duck confit. So I cooked the duck in its own fat for 6 hours. It was done but wasn't tender enough. I'll cook longer as I'm still learning. From what I've tried, it wasn't bad. Tomorrow will be better as I'll cook it some more.





Second attempt at Brewer's yeast bar. This time I added 4 cups of chocolate morsels. It turns out to be too much which made it too sweet. No problem, I'll eat my own mistakes. They are all good stuff. Ingredients: Black sesame seeds, brewer's yeast, bee pollen, pine pollen, dates and chocolate morsels.
