Day 690: Snow Tries It

Friday, June 22, 2018

So I have a new username! I originally chose "Snowy Jade" because that was what I was called as a young child and it felt comfy to me. I'm learning that comfy isn't necessarily a good thing all of the time, though. If I want to release some of this weight, I am going to do a handful of things that are not comfortable. Therefore, I thought maybe a fresh start would be in my best interests. I chose "Snow Tries It" because that is the way I would like to look at what is in front of me. It scares me to think of lifelong changes. Thinking like that lands me in bed with a bag of chips and a bunch of candy. Instead, I'm just going to TRY things. For example, a few of you brought up tracking my food in response to my last blog. I have been doing it privately in a notebook. It's uncomfortable seeing just how much junk I'm putting into my body, but it's okay to be uncomfortable if it leads me to a better place. I'm going to try things. Some will be for me, some will not. And that's okay! I feel a little bit excited to try out some new things that I'm not used to and find that maybe I'll learn to even like a few of them. Minute by minute - that's how I'm going. Here's to trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone!!

Changing your username to reflect your new plan is an AWESOME idea! If you start using SparkPeople to track your food and exercise, you should share your trackers so that people can provide feedback if they want to.

I like your new name and I just like the whole concept of being curious, of trying something new, and of getting out of your comfort zone. That is quite the trifecta!
