I haven't blogged much recently because I've been in a lot of pain with my hip and back plus I've been dealing with a review of my disability benefits resulting in a flare up of my eating disorder which I've now finally got back under control. Anxiety is a bitch to deal with. You see, even though I have a degenerative condition the DWP here in the UK like to reaccess us every couple of years just to make sure we haven't miraculously been restored to full health in the interim. If you think there's a little sarcasm in that statement then you've hit the nail right on the head.
However, we're not here to discuss the DWPs ineffectual efforts to make us all take up our beds and walk so they can stop paying us for the benefits we paid into while working. I got to see my doctor yesterday and she has stepped up my pain relief by addingTramadol into the mix.
We then got to discussing my hip and specifically having it replaced. The bad news is that my CCG has changed the criteria for referral to a BMI of less than 35. The good news is that she is really pleased with my weightloss to date and that I only have to lose another 12 kgs (26 to 27 lbs) to qualify. Even better my target weight is now on my medical records with a note to refer me when I reach it. I don't even have to see her, just arrange a phone consultation when I get there.
In the meantime I need to go and get some hip x-rays done as my most recent ones were 3 years ago. So I'm hoping to be in surgery by early spring next year. Which is a very good outcome for both my physical and menta lhealth.Happy days!
