We have been eating a lot of cucumbers lately, since they harvest first near water. We went to the fruit market to get more, so I ended up buying a huge head of cauliflower as well. Most people do not know that when you see black spots on cauliflower, it is not spoiled or old. The black comes from sunlight. When I grew my own cauliflower, I learned that when it starts to "head", you need to pull the big leaves up around the head and tie them to cover it. This prevents the sunlight from making the black on the produce. Stores will put the heads with black spots in the marked down bin because people think it is spoiled. I snatch them up and scrape that sun spot off and enjoy a perfectly great vegetable!

It is still nice outside, about 70 degrees, but still overcast, but no rain yet. The grass is now just brown here.
