Just back from the Bermuda Triangle...

Not really. Actually, I had to take a step back to take care of my aunt who had surgery while my mom was on vacation.

During that time, I continued to focus on my own personal health. I found time to exercise 6 days per week and began the task of adding new foods to my diet (who knew crumpets were low in calories & fat).

About three weeks ago, I was diagnosed with lymphedema and started working with a therapist in an effort to get the swelling down. The treatment process has been interesting to say the least...

- Wear bandages on swollen arm 24 hours per day (only removing them to shower & massage the area).
- Massage therapy (both at home & at the clinic)
- Numerous arm exercises designed to help reduce fluid build up & swelling.

Nobody knows exactly what caused my arm to swell up... It could be anything.

All I know is that once the swelling is down, I'll be purchasing a compression sleeve to wear as needed in an effort to prevent future flare ups.

What's next?

I'll be having surgery in mid July to 'replace' my implant that shifted (I'm a breast Cancer survivor) & will be on medical leave for 4 weeks.

My goal (once the swelling goes down in my arm) is to get back on track with exercising... I do what I can, despite it being difficult with my arm bandaged. It isn't much, but at least I'm trying.
