Progress - One Small Step At A Time!

I'm progressing with my home therapy program and with my walking. Yesterday, I walked 6450 steps. Somewhere around 5000 of those steps were done as I walked up and down, close to every isle inside the Super Walmart. It took me about 75-90 minutes of continuous movement to complete the walk. I hope I didn't raise any red flags on their security cameras! LOL I did buy several items during the end of my walk but I didn't want to put anything that required refrigeration in my cart during my walk because I was afraid it might spoil. I enjoy doing my walking with a basket (instead of my walker) in an air conditioned area. This is a huge Walmart so it fits the profile of a good walking space. It has been blisteringly hot for the past few days so air conditioning won out over walking outside.
I also started outpatient physical therapy for my neck and migraines. I did my intake session last Wednesday and the actual treatment began today. Last week, the therapist gave me 6 exercises to do twice per day. As expected, I've been super sore from doing the exercises. Today, my therapist put me on heat first, then later checked my body position on the six exercises. We made a few changes in the intensity level with 3 of the exercises and corrected my body position. That was followed by manual traction (super painful), massage and some stretching. Then I did 8 minutes on the arm cycle and several exercises with with some bands.
At the end of the session, as I was about to go to my car, the clouds opened up and we had a huge rain storm. I sat and waited for 20 minutes before I could get to my car. The traffic on the way home was horrendous. It took the length of the ride home for the muscle spasms to start and the headache to run up my neck to the back of my head. This was expected. I may feel worse before I feel better. The good news is that my other muscles have improved by doing all of my home therapy exercises! I could tell that I'm way stronger just by the ease with which I was able to complete the new exercises! Yay me! Progress!
