Hello to all my dear sparklers!
It's been a wild and wooly week. We got some beautiful Lloyd Flanders outdoor chairs and ottomans in the gallery with two lovely matching side tables and an outdoor rug as well.
Since there are 4 chairs and two ottomans and we are squeezed for space we had to set them up as two separate groupings. I'd prefer they sit across from each other in a little grouping as they would on your patio. DH accepted the furniture in from our mover today and bless his heart he's not the best stager in the world. But I was grateful he covered the gallery for me as I was up to my eyebrows pulling together all of our records for proof of our payments during this 8 year long 'save our home' illegal foreclosure battle.
I got it done (feeling guilty the whole time that DH was over in the gallery...when I really think he needs more rest from his surgery last Tuesday). But our hearing is Monday and our new lawyer needs to be up to speed and he specifically asked for these records so I got them together for him.
It will be awkward on Monday as Randy (the lawyer we fired) will be there seeking a withdrawal from the court and asking for lawyer fees. While our lawyer will be representing us and asking for our fees to be reimbursed. Awkward!
It is what it is. It's just incredible to me that after ignoring all my e-mails and all of my phone calls for MONTHS asking him to update us on the case and send us copies of the motions that had been filed and MOST importantly responding to TWO Motions to Compel from the plaintiff's attorneys. NOW we have his attention now that he is worried about collecting HIS fees. Pitiful...but SO the world we live in today isn't it?
I faxed him 26 copies of records he needs and tonight I'm feeling SO happy that I've got that task crossed off my 'to do' list.
We are meeting with our good friends for Father's Day Sunday at one of our favorite restaurants down in Naples. We always have so much fun with these guys.
Another friend from the old group stopped by the consignment gallery to tell us that she really misses us. We miss her also but probably not enough to get sucked back into the group situation. It might be okay to see some of them very occasionally. It's impossible to discard 30-year friendships without wanting to catch up every so often. BUT...I don't need any more stress on my plate so there is always that to consider as well.
We are still enjoying our meal service. We are now trying Marley Spoon which is Martha Stewart's brainchild.
Last night I made us garlicky broccolini with pecorino cheese roasted pork sandwich on a hoagie bun. Very tasty and easy to make! You top it off with a little siracha sauce who would have thunk it? Broccolini on a sandwich?
I really like these mail order meal service plans because they emphasize fresh REAL food especially veggies and everything is all organized and together with a beautiful full-color recipe card. It saves me SO much time running to the grocery store and the BEST part is they are portion controlled. The meal serves two and no leftovers. Marley Spoon seems to have more inventive recipes also. I like it so far. We've had two weeks of 3 meals per week.
Tomorrow is Saturday already...these weeks are just flying by. I'm still taking good care of my hubs and our Mackey boy. They keep me busy!
Oh for the stress-free life of a pampered pussycat!
