We left this morning with snacks, water bottles and camera, lenses, binoculars.
What a wonderful day! The weather was absolutely perfect! In Michigan, you are never further than a few miles of a river, lake or stream. WE did the Sunshine side of Michigan: Lake Huron and the beaches, marshes, and lighthouse. Tawas State Park is the number one rated campground in the state, so we did go there after stopping in AuGres to walk out into the marsh that has overtaken the bay.
DD did camera duty, while I spotted things with the binoculars. She got a pic of an oriole, but the hawk was on a mission in the marsh for food. I did see him dive in front of us, but he did not make a dump and run at his nest, so I believe he went elsewhere for breakfast.
Lake Huron was stunningly varying shades of greenish-blue, depending on how the sun hit it. Not a cloud in the sky.
We stopped at a couple state parks to take pics, watch geese, people, and the lake.
We were gone nine hours, but the day was so great! I used sunscreen (SPF 50) but I can feel some heat in spots.
I am sure DD will download the pics into our library for later viewing.
Ooo,, I think my lips got sunburned.
