Here I am again

Thursday, June 14, 2018

I just went through my Spark friends and deleted anyone who hadn't updated in the past year. I now have 3-5 friends, but I can make some new ones. Can't figure out how to delete people who no longer have a profile. I would have deleted myself using myguidelines, but instead, I'm going to work at it again.
My focus is on strength and fitness rather than calories and weight loss (although I'm hoping that motivation rejoins me as well). I know I need to have a knee replacement in the next year or two, and I know that recovery will be much easier if I am as strong as I can be.
Exercise--it's like flossing. You just have to do it everyday.

It’s so good to see you. I’m glad I am still on your friends list. This is definitely a journey to better strength, flexibility, agility, and balance as we age. I agree, your knee surgery will definitely be easier with your focus on these things. I had a hip replacement in 2006 and my surgeon wouldn’t even schedule it until I had worked out on a recumbent bike and several weight machines in a prescribed manner for 6 months. He was right. I was up and teaching in my special ed class 6 weeks later.

I’m wishing you healthy days ahead. Have a blessed weekend. So glad you’re back.
