Anaerobic exercise for older people

Well I woke up this morning with a churning stomach - anxiety as the countdown to moving draws nearer. Will I get everything done in time!?!! Probably. But, gosh, it's stressful!
So, I was sitting with my feet soaking in a warm bath of lavender to start the day right, and checking my Twitter feed. I follow The Irish Times for their great running articles, and today this one caught my attention. I have noticed that a lot of local running talk is about crazy races - 48hrs races, double marathons, endurance challenges.
This article has some interesting commentary about this. More importantly, for me, it talks of the necessity for older people to maintain muscle mass.
