Day 45 Childhood 2

June 14 2018
Looking back on my childhood as a 50 yr old I see now the extraordinary privilege I had in just walking to school.
What a sad statement to make. Everyone walked to school and rarely was anyone picked up or dropped off by mum but pedophiles weren't the norm and our mum's had no fear of letting us out of their sight. I grew up unafraid of being dragged into a car by some psycho and our mothers never knew the constant panic that parents face today.
I can remember being told to run outside and play as we weren't allowed to bother the adults.
My sisters and I used to swim in the river and we would come back hours later and no one got mad because they didn't know where we were.
Oh for those simple days.
