Well it was a good day, but didn't go the way I wanted it to. Started with the new doctor. I had a 10:00 appointment and they told me to be there at 9:40, but I didn't get called to check my financials until 10:35. I got seen by the resident and the med student at 11:00. The doctor came in and told me that he won't do the replacement until I lose 40 lbs. Due to my higher BMI he said the odds of infection doubles and with that I could lose a leg. While I understand that, it could have been put better. He spent a total of 4 minutes talking to me. The positive was that I was supposed to go to the old ortho doctor on Friday morning to get my cortisone shots, but I got them today. So it will be working by the time we drive to K.C. I was really taking a chance to get the shots and then hit the road. I left there at 11:35. Needless to say I wasn't a real happy camper. So I came home and wrote out a new low carb diet to follow. Next week I will start some therapy which he prescribed to help with flexibility and could help with the weight loss. I am giving myself 4 months to try and get the weight off. This really pushes my schedule back, but maybe God is telling me that I need more time. Let go and let God! that is my motto. And had a great meeting tonight. I am feeling so confident with the team we have. The talk with the guy I dreaded turned out much better than I thought it would. He was receptive to our comments and agreed to rewrite his talk with our suggestions. he has 4 weeks left to get this done, so that is plenty of time. All in all might not have been the day I planned, but it did turn out well. And tomorrow is the big "65" ! I don't have anything planned but maybe attack the grass, since I am going to be gone this weekend, I better get it done.

    Happy birthday! emoticon

I hope you get some relief from the shot. I have bi-lateral knee replacements. The last surgery I had was because I got an infection TWELVE years after the knee was replaced. Be sure and take pre-dental work antibiotics even if the doctors say it's no longer their protocol. It's your body and you suffer the consequences if you don.t

That being said, you are in the right place to get the weight off.

You can do this, Bob. And he is looking out for YOU. Better to cut the changes of infection before than try to get rid of it later. Larry's dad had knee replacement surgery, and he got infection and he ended up having to go thru dialysis treatment 3 times a week, for 6 hours a time, and it eventually took his life. You do not want that. So let's get busy and get those 40 pounds off. I know you can.
