More to ponder

Saturday, June 02, 2018

The nurse called yesterday and we discussed
the next procedures that will be done. One is
a limited echocardiogram and then an esophageal
cardiogram. For that, I will be sedated. Then
my cardiologist and his colleague will consult and
review. It seems my doctor was very concerned that
he may not have come to the right conclusion so the
2 of them reviewed the first set of results. Either way,
there are more tests and they are scheduled for June 18th.
They have also scheduled an angiogram that afternoon.
If the test results are confirmed and I need it, I will go
straight into surgery. Very complicated explanation
so if you can't follow it all, don't feel alone.
I am still working in the basement so I can have the
worst done in the next 2 weeks. It helps to stay VERY
busy so I am not thinking too much.
I have gotten behind in email and reading articles
and other posts. I want to be as ready as I can be for
the time when I may not be able to do much. I know
you understand.
GD is getting confirmed tomorrow so I better make my
salad. Have a great weekend. HUGS!

My husband went through those same tests, he said they weren't a big deal because he was asleep. You'll do fine.

You have a lot going but with all the prayers, you will do well. I am glad you can do the preparations before having all the procedures done. I am going through this with my mom. She just had the angiogram and a stent placed in the clogged artery. We are now setting up 3 Dr. visits in a row to correlate the need for an aortic valve replacement which will take place on the 18th. Hugs!

good for you for staying busy and being prepared . knowledge is power so look up as much info you can about what's about to happen, one of the nurses looked up some stuff i was concerned about when i got my pacemaker she made copies highlighted stuff , it was great. start making and freezing meals, when i got home from hospital my son made me a greasy burger and i got sick, buy some easy things your husband can help with , like instant oatmeal, see if your library delivers books , mine does or down load some free to your phone .maybe splurge on a recliner one that is easy to in and out of , you wont want to be jostled after surgery maybe buy some comfortable button down shirts that are easy to get in and out of, see if you can talk to someone who has gone through what you have they will have a ton of ideas to make things easier, you are smart tough and resourceful , You got this if you need anything dont hesitate to ask Hugs

I know you're trying to stay busy, but be mindful of any limitations the doctors are recommending. There are very few things that can't wait until you have fully recovered, if they need to do surgery. You are always so organized, I'm sure you'll be ready and you have a wonderful family to help as needed.

So much for you to take in and I think the phrase "practice medicine" is very true. Glad your doctors are making sure before undertaking anything drastic.

Good to do a lot ahead of time but hopefully you won't overdo it.
