She's Ba-ack!!

Holy cow... gone a long time. I have had some rough months but I'm not out of the fight yet! I've been really busy - training on the road now for a year, earned an awesome train-the-trainer certification that was the culmination of a career-long dream, finally got my band together, did some solo shows, spent time with family, etc.

So no, I wasn't focusing on my fitness goals. Again, no idea what caused the change. I think if I could pinpoint what suddenly switches in my brain to lose what is often a hugely strong commitment to full-blown binging again...well, I'd be rich. But that's not important.

I've been living my life and it's quite grand. So I'm going to upload some photos for you to see. This is the name of my band (named in honor of my town, New Bern):

We're in the process of booking so hoping to have some regular shows on the books. In the meantime, I'm still singing back up in a Lynyrd Skynyrd band called Second Helping. Here's our webpage:

We've got shows booked in West Virginia, Georgia, NC and Florida so that keeps me busy, too. It's a lot of fun and an easy gig. The guys don't let us girls do any heavy lifting, so I basically show up, look pretty and sing...and then I get paid! Pretty sweet, huh?

So here's the game plan starting tomorrow:

Get up and do some office work.
Head to the gym.
Go to the doc for a routine lab appointment.
Head home and get my garage/music room ready for rehearsal this week. (I had taken some stuff down because I had a solo show yesterday.)

And the daily plan will be:

NO CARBS (until I get detoxed again)
At least 30 minutes of exercise daily. I rejoined our neighborhood pool since swimming seems to be the exercise that I do best at. I'm also going to continue at the gym.
Drink water.
Visit Sparkpeople daily.

That's pretty much it. Sounds so simple, doesn't it? I've also given my husband permission to call me on things he knows I won't want to do as far as eating. It helps me to know he's watching when I need it right now.

AND THANKS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO CHECKED ON ME AND REACHED OUT. I'm sorry I was a big chicken and didn't respond. Your words meant much to me and still do. So, here we go again!
