Your Scale, Your Friends and Even Your Doctor May Be Lying To You!

Sunday, May 27, 2018

I'm the type of person who needs to be told exactly what to do, to make specific changes! My doctor, a lovely woman, told me 30 years ago that I was the most fit 200 pound woman she had ever met. Now this sounds wonderful and I took it as being wonderful but the reality is that she did me a great disservice. Instead I feel that she should have told me that even though I was fit and 200 lb that I needed to lose the weight! It was time then at 30-ish years old instead of now at 57 years old, to drop the weight. I know that she knew back then that I was headed down the road to high cholesterol high blood pressure diabetes arthritis fibromyalgia and a whole host of other things..more 2 follow when I get home from my 34-mile bike ride in 94 degree temperatures with a bicycle that's gears are slipping and making it a bit of a challenge. I apologize if I have offended anyone up to this point, if I have, you may not want to check back.

Sadly, I was told for years... I laugh sometimes and marvel that my hmo didn't fire me... We just need to feel what we feel and figure it out, I guess. I'm happy you made the epic bike ride...
