One, (there are a lot more), Great Change I Made From My 36, 5% Challenges

Way back in the Spring of 2010 I joined my first 5% Challenge. I lost 13 pounds in the 8 weeks. I hadn't lost that much weight in a very long time, so I joined again for summer. I forget how much I lost in my second challenge but I knew I had to do something to keep me from slacking off sooo..... I became a team leader. Yeah, I was one of those people who could do for others what I couldn't do for myself. (notice the past tense).

Long story short, I lost 43 pounds in 1 year. You know how it goes, life happens and the weight comes back plus some. That happened to me. Blah blah blah I've blogged it all in the past.

I am now losing again. Slowly but that's ok. I am happy about it and I am thankful I stuck with my position as a Co-Leader on the 5% Overall Community.

This morning I read a blog where the writer mentioned ice cream addiction. Commenting on that blog made me realize that thanks to the 5% I've tackled 2 long-held food problems I had in the past.

Ice cream addiction and I NEVER ate fruit.

When I first heard about making soft serve with frozen bananas I thought it was worth a try, and it was. I loved it! emoticon Soon I thought about adding other frozen fruit to the frozen bananas and although it was more like a smoothie it was satisfying.

Now I simply puree whatever frozen fruit I have on hand, there is always a variety in my freezer, I rarely add bananas, so it's more like sherbet. Yummy! I guess there is a machine you can buy now that makes your frozen fruit like ice cream but I just do it with my 15-year-old blender.
