Sunday and staying in

Sunday, May 27, 2018

Happy Sunday, good Sunday morning to you. Yes, that is what I am having. A good cup of coffee, and spending time with my SP friends.

I would love to be outside enjoying my coffee but it is already 86, humid, and the gnat are horrible. Wanted to hoe a little bit more in the garden, but you just can't stand it out there, and bug bites affect me horribly, and I really swell up and ITCH. So best not get bite. Just walking to the mail box yesterday I got bit several times on shoulders and neck and they swelled up like golf balls, little exaggerated but that is what they felt like. So I am not having a repeat performance. So will stay in the house, and only go out to move the animal around, with I will do when I am done here.

I wanted to get at this right away today, in case we have a satellite block again today. It seems like this time of year for a few weeks we have are in an area where the satellite is off kilter, can't think of what the tech, name is for it, but it starts in the morning and will last till late afternoon, and they say there is nothing they can do about it. Huh, have to think about that awhile, but I am no Techy. person so who am I to question. But it sure ruined my day yesterday that I was taking the day off and watch a couple Netflix movies. Oh, well, I did get another plaster flower arrangement made, think I will give this on to DIL. Now, just let it cure a few days, spray it white, and seal it. When done, I may share it with you. lol

Last night after hubby got home, we ate supper, and then I suggested a little drive to the cemetery to put out the flowers, and then to the convenient store in our little village for a soft Ice Cream cone. I knew that IC would gets hubby attention, and it worked, I DIDN'T have to drive to cemetery by myself. hahaha, always thinking. I know he was tired, but at least we had a few minutes together without the TV's blaring, but did have Merlin panting in the back of the Old Van though. He wasn't to happy with his ride, as hubby hasn't got to the mech. to have the AC refilled with Freon, or whatever it is. It has a slow leak somewhere, so every year his just has it filled in the spring and it will work until we have to turn on the heater, and then repeat every year. But this year it went from heater to AC in a day, and then field work started and he hasn't had a chance to get at it.

Well, dear friends, I had better get this send off before the sky gremlin shows up and take my wifi away. So you all remember that it is Sunday, and just because tomorrow is a holiday, take time for yourself today. Linda

Hi, LInda. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I did end up going to my son's, very reluctantly, because as I predicted it set me back with my work. No matter. Going to Plan B. Back at it again today. At least I didn't overeat over there, though I could have skipped dessert and should have. It was nice to spend time with the family.

Seems it is hotter than hatties over your way. It is coming our way.....we always seem to get your weather in a couple of days. Heading down to Atlanta for a week for a graduation / family reunion. The predicted 80s was changed to be in the 90s......guess it will be "Hotlanta" lol.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

1 thing with the dizzy spells may be to keep well hydrated.
this may improve circulation around the brain
perhaps a blood thinning agent like mini aspirin may help too
    cheers richard

I'm sorry to hear that the warm weather brought the flying insects. I hate being bitten by bugs. The flies here are vicious and their bites HURT! The gnats and "no see ums" are just irritants. Glad you got a ride to the cemetery. Take care and stay cool.

Hope your WiFi is cooperating. Our new service is fine so far. The other kept costing more and more, and we weren’t getting very good service for what we paid for. I actually saw the sun for a few minutes. Hopefully the next round of rain will hold off till I get to this afternoon’s graduation party for the daughter of friends. Very proud of this young woman. Remember how grown up we felt at 18? Between ourselves, husband and I already knew we would get married, but waited till halfway through college.

I grilled early this morning. By noon it was 85 with high humidity. Margaret got up and both of us had really bad sinus headaches this morning so we stayed in. I would have rested, however she had other ideas. We changed the drapes in the dining room and living room which meant that we had windows to wash. I bought tilt in windows so it would be easier for her to wash them, however I seem to be the one doing it! Oh well half done, tomorrow we will tackle the bedrooms, all three of them. Have a good day!

I like that 'vanilla gnat solution'; lets us know how it works for you, if you do try it out. Right now it's 20c. (70f.) and nice windy blow off the lake keeping those darn gnats at bay. Will get up to 28c. (87f.) this afternoon; hope the cooling breezes continue. emoticon emoticon

Linda, as you know I try a lot of home remedies for many things. My SIL who is a healthnut and into very much everything "natural", told me of a remedy to repelling certain bugs. One of them was gnats, as we also get them and they are annoying.

Her remedy for gnats was using Vanilla. Gnats hate the smell of vanilla. She mixes in Vanilla into her skin cream, a little at a time. If you have any kind of lotion that is vanilla smelling and you put it on, it might work for you. If you don't try and mix some regular cooking vanilla into a small portion of your skin cream.

Also try putting vanilla and water in a spray bottle. Wear a hat out to get your mail, but first spray your hat with the water and vanilla. See if that might work. You probably could do that on your arms and neck also. If anything you'd smell like a fresh baked cookie. LOL!

Another one she told me about was peppermint and spiders. She sprays natural peppermint oil around her windows and she doesn't get spiders in her house.

Just thought you might find a solution to your gnats.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Enjoy your Sunday. We'll be heading to church shortly and when we get back the kids will be going home and I'll be turning on the AC! Then some reading. I'm with you - it's just too darn hot and buggy to be working in the gardens! This can't last forever!
