Food Delivery snafu

Saturday, May 26, 2018

I get my food delivered to my door from Mom's Meals, and there are two door to my mobile home, I have a very large noted printed on the front door not to leave anything at this door and deliver everything to the door that is situated on a very large porch in the car port. Well, the FEDX driver apparently cannot read and I yelled at him not to leave the box. but he scampered to his truck and kept on trucking and here I was with a box at a door that doesn't open. Being handicapped, I opened the door to the porch and was hit with all my son's junk. I figured I could do this, HA BOY WAS I WRONG. I started to moved things and when I did I moved a professional can opener and the metal part fell on my right big toe and sliced the top off, blood was everywhere and I had nothing to stop the blood or clean it up, but I was determined to get the box now. I managed by moving all I could to open the door and manage to drag the box in. I got the box in the front room, tore open the top and got the handles and a little at a time, dragged the box by the handle to the refrigerator to unload. It took me about 30 min or better, but I managed, (guess my stubborn streak kicked in) and unloaded the food, and by the time I sat my bones down in my comfortable chair totally exhausted. I heard this motorcycle coming and out loud I reiterated NO NO NO. It was my son and had I waited he could have brought the box in for me. He looked at my big toe and said the blood has stopped. LIKE I need him to tell me that. I never know when he is coming, and Had I called him, he was on his bike and would not have answered me. I could have asked my neighbors but I did say I was stubborn right???

It has been 3 weeks now and my toe has finally begun to heal. I managed to put an antiseptic wash and add some neosporin and a few bandages. All is fine, but putting on shoes has been a challenge.

I contacted Mom's Meals and they in turn called FEDX and complained. FEDX supervisor called me and said it will never happen again.

I have since tried it out and the FEDX man went to the wrong door again, read the note and then delivered it to the correct door, I was waiting for him and had him bring the box in and set it on my washing machine and that made it soo much easier to unload the box and put the food in the refer next to the washing machine. YEA one for me. I WON LOL

That is so awful that the FedEx man didn't read and deliver to right door, then you wouldn't have a cut toe. Some people just don't care to do their job right. Hope your toes heals quickly.

Even tho we have had all kinds of packages disappear from our porches, FEDX still delivers and REFUSES to ring the doorbell. I have never seen a company be so inconsiderate to clients. I had a computer delivered and no, they did not ring the door bell to see if anyone was home. People really need to put up a fuss and make them reimburse for lost or stolen packages.
