Today was a good day

Thursday, May 24, 2018

Perhaps I'm jinxing it by using the past tense at 7:30 pm, but I suspect it won't crater in the next 4.5 hours, necessitating any AK-47 usage. (Yes, that's a reference, I've never held an AK-47, to the best of my recollection.)

As mentioned in a prior blog, a friend is home for a visit, from his west coast home, and he and his wife invited a few of us to lunch. I and one other person made it, so it was a cozy lunch, with much rambling, yet intelligent discussion covering electronic medical health records, 7th Amendment jurisprudence, high west coast cost of living and a bunch off other topics. The last of those topics I mentioned came into play at the end, when we attempted to do math to settle our single bill, amd the Seattle couple looked at it amd decided to buy us poor Michigan people lunch, because the sum was akin to what they usually pay for themselves for lunch in Seattle.

Afterwards, I wandered out to the Detroit Institute of Art, where a Star Wars costume exhibits had just opened. That was very cool. And if you disagree, the gentleman below would like a word.

And now I'm at the Token Lounge, to see Oceans of Slumber (female fronted progressive (?) metal) and Insomnium (Finnish doomy melodic death metal). Gonna be a good show!

(230.8 this morning, but it was after breakfast, so not taken at my usual measuring time)

I should say so...free lunch will old friends, a bit or Star Wars, and ending the day with music...doesn’t get too mischievous better than that!

Forgot to explain the reference - it refers to a line from the Ice Cube song "It Was a Good Day" http://youtu.be/h4UqMyldS7Q
