How Does Spending Time Outdoors Benefit us?

Wednesday, May 23, 2018

This week for the Aspire to Inspire team our blog assignment is: How does spending time outdoors benefit you?
Spending time outdoors, hiking in the forests or mountains and even just being outside has been said to have many health benefits. For me I have found the following to be true.
1. Enjoying time outdoors helps eliminate fatigue. I can be feeling exhausted and ready for a nap, but when I go outside for just a short time, I am rejuvenated and don’t feel the need for a nap.
2. Being outside, especially during the warm summer months, tends be help me when I am feeling depressed. I am not sure if it is the extra Vitamin D or some other reason.
3. Being in nature also reduces stress; after all, who could be stressed when they are in awe of the beauty of nature.
I have also read of other health benefits from being in nature, such as improving short-term memory, reducing inflammation, lowering blood pressure, and inproving your ability to focus,

I try to get outside every single day for all the reasons you mentioned! Having two dogs that need walks helps. Even when it’s so hot here in the summer, I then go and take walks in the swimming pool. I look forward to doing some hiking this summer on our travels.

I love being outside and couldn't wait for the warmer weather. Well it's here and that's exactly what I have been doing. Not spending much time on this computer, cause daylight is burning and spring/summer will be over before we know it. I'm still remembering this last winter, and I don't want to go back there any time soon.

All good reasons to get outside. It's nice when the weather warms so we can get out of the house.

Love this blog. It just reaffirms my feelings on getting out into nature. That is why hubby and I try to get out glamping at least once a month if not more. Nothing like parking in the forest, setting up your chairs in front of the firepit, hiking the trails and end the day relaxing in front of a cozy fire.

I love being outdoors especially when it is fairly warm sunshine and it always makes me feel better!... The adrenal glands have a lot to do with energy vs. fatigue and sunshine will actually help bring energy levels up. ... Thanks for sharing the information .. I did not know those things.
