I may be dragging tonight as an early morning EMT
call had me moving sooner than I planned. We drove
our elderly man to the closest hospital. He had a fever,
nausea and back pain but who really wants to take an
hour long road trip when a 15 minute trip gets you to a
doctor sooner? Thankfully he agreed and he did not need
to be transferred on.
I am still hard at work, cutting down on clutter and all the
unneeded household stuff. I have focused on the basement
for a few days. I give my mind a break from the upstairs.
I find that what I move out of the basement does not have
the same sentimental tug as the rest. My office helper has
kindly taken fruit jars off my hands. I estimate that I have
between 400 and 600 jars of canned goods that may have
come over on the Ark. I wish I had asked my DDs to help
me go through this when they were still at home. But I do
recall the summers being extremely busy then as well. A
little at a time and maybe by August, I will have all the shelves
empty and nothing to place on them. I am seriously cutting
back-NOW, this year and hold myself to it.
It appears that we will finally be getting some above normal
temperatures this weekend so I want to devote my time to
planting garden when that happens. I will be thinking of all
