Life

Monday, May 21, 2018

Our lives have been filled with babysitting two granddaughters who are 14 months apart but we haven't seen much of them the last few weeks so maybe mom has actually quit work to take care of them herself. I've heard rumors that she's pregnant again- she hasn't said anything to us-maybe complaining of the days and nights of sitting finally made her realize how tough it can be at our age. Those girls are ~2 1/2 and 14 months. Our grandson from our oldest daughter is looking forward to graduating high school in a couple of weeks. His sister will be finishing her first year of high school. Both of the older kids had rough starts to life but have done well.

We haven't done much this year but have two trips to look forward to-a week in Arkansas just because we've never done anything besides drive through and another to our old home state for my nephew's wedding in September. I will enjoy the time with no doctor appointments. I've has several tests done after starting the year with a month of coughing due to bronchitis. The last day of this month I have to see my primary care in the morning then in the afternoon go through the paperwork and find a date for a sleep study. Hopefully that will be the end of it for a long while.

I need to get back on track with my exercise which wasn't happening with the girls here. DH has an appointment to donate blood so I am planning to get up at the same time and do one of my many exercise videos and maybe follow that up with the elliptical or treadmill at the gym- it's only a couple blocks from our house. I have to get out of this lazy stage!

Hope all works out with your tests. When in Arkansas, maybe you'll find a nice place to take some walks! Stay focused...you can do this! We both can! emoticon

Hope she is finally realizing that it's too much for you. Hope you get decent report from the doctor and can get back to exercising.

I hope everything with the Doctors visit goes good. Never had any children but my sisters did and now they are having kids. I have just decided I'm not fast enough to keep up with them.

Hubby has been babysitting one grandchild for a long time when she was going to the sitters until 3 pm, then he would pick her up. When she was a little over two, 2nd grandchild came into the picture. He watched them both for about a month then granddaughter went to the CDC at the base, grandson went a month later. When granddaughter started Kindergarten, he picked her up after school. He has been retired for 5 years now, then grandson went to Kindergarten 3 years later. Now that I am retired, I help him with the pick ups. When baby granddaughter is sick (she was last week Friday), we watch her. It is HARD work!

I know the feeling. I have 4 children. The middle girl with the most kids puts a burden on us. We love her 3 kids but they are 5 and 4 and 2. Talk about a handful. I wish the parents would step up and fly right. It would be easier if they did.
