stop overeating...

Saturday, May 19, 2018

It is hard to not eat junk that my husband buys. He knows I am trying to eat better. I carefully buy healthy food. He goes to the store and buys a whole bunch of snacks. So, if they are in here I will eat them. Can't stay away. I realize I can't just blame him for my problem and lack of self control. I do feel sabotaged by him though. I do feel he is not realizing that having these foods in the house is too hard for me to resist. And little by little I get into them. Does he secretly want me to fail? Is he simply buying things he wants to eat and I consider them bad choices? I think he would say just don't eat them. :0(

Is there a way you can move the snacks out of your sight (like way up on top of a cabinet for ex.)? Then, when your husband asks where they are, you can tell him not to get them any more or to hide them because they are unhealthy and too tempting.

Welcome to SparkPeople. We are all here for the same reason, no matter what our personal story is. We are here to help each other to get to that healthy point we want to be in our lives. It is not going to be easy, but it is attainable. Make small goals and they will lead to big successes. You have to make you #1 and tell yourself that you are worth it. If you don't take care of yourself you can't take care of anyone else. If I can help in anyway, feel free to reach out to me! I feel your pain as my wife does the same thing to me. Peanut M&M's are my downfall, but yet there is always a candy dish filled with them on the coffee table. And like you I can't resist. You can do it! We are here to help! Welcome and get active on this site. emoticon

It's definitely hard when you live with someone who is not on board with your new goals. I have the same problem at my house. I just try to remember my Why when I am tempted. You need a strong statement on Why you want to make changes.
