Started the day with a 1.7 mile walk. Took a bit longer than usual clocked in at 33 minutes this time. My daughters have tech week starting Saturday with the performances the following Saturday and Sunday. I needed to switch back to mornings for exercise by next Monday since practices all week won’t end until 9:00p.m.
The girls and I worked through history map work together and then they each worked on math on their own. While they did the math I headed outside to rake around the bushes so my husband could take all the yard waste to the compost facility in the afternoon.
In the afternoon I helped D14 study biology definitions while D11 worked on a coral reef craft for biology. Today she did step one: tie dyeing coffee filters. Next up was vocabulary, a test for D14 and a new list of words to discuss with D11 before she did the book exercises on her own.
The girls had theatre practice today. It’s unusual for them to have practice on Thursday but not entirely unexpected since the show is almost upon us. I dropped D11 off for her practice and took D14 to the library with me to find a few movies and books. An hour later I dropped D14 off for her practice which was in the basement again with no room for parents to stay and feel comfortable. I went back to the library to Spark a bit and stay cool. I also began balancing our checkbook but ran into some sort of an error and then ran out of time. I think I will finish that tomorrow while the girls work on math.
Once home we had a quick dinner Then my husband asked me to take an evening walk with him around the block. We also sat on the backyard bench under the maple tree together. That would have been a perfect way to end the day…but he went to bed and I am Sparking and grading papers instead.
Keep moving forward! Kohl
