I have been doing rather well with eating only 3 meals per day, adequately spaced apart. I am not 100% compliant everyday. For example I just cheated with a cup of decaf mid-afternoon and I put half and half in it. This is a violation but.....minor I think. I did have a glass of wine at my book club and some cheese and crackers. I acknowledge this is a major violation but oh well.

I also quit chewing gum. This has gone very well and was easier to quit than I thought it would be. I still get the urge every now and then but its a minor craving. I feel good about not putting all that artificial sweetner in my body. And I think I am less hungry. Constantly putting sweet in your mouth tees you up for wanting more I believe.

I acknowledge that my "experiment of one" is not very scientific as I did both things pretty much the same time.

Results? I feel calmer. I am sleeping way better than I have for years. My night time itching has abated. Not completely gone but much much less. I had occasion to have my blood pressure taken twice this week. Once at the dentist and once at the doctor. Both times it was excellent. I have been borderline high for years, even when I was 15 pounds lighter. This alone is astonishing to me. And I have lost a little bit of weight as well. Which makes me quite happy.

Even my golf game has improved.

    Makes sense, and I have the same experience.
    I never had the gum habit, but did put random food in my mouth throughout the day, and I feel so much better since I stopped doing that. 3 meals a day - and my body and mind doesn't expect food in between.
