Day 137: Bizzzy

Thursday, May 17, 2018

Busy evening...Paul and Jamie cleaned the guinea pig cage and I gave the dog a bath. Jamie and his friend gave the pigs a bath the other day, so everyone is clean as a whistle now!

My dad is doing much better, thankfully. He saw the dentist yesterday and they did x-rays - nothing is broken and he doesn't need to have that loose tooth pulled, just needs to be careful of it for a couple weeks. He says he's mainly eating soup and milkshakes and bananas right now.

(For those who missed my blog from earlier this week, my 85-year-old dad tripped in a parking lot on Saturday night and completely face-planted. Somehow he managed not to actually break anything.)

So, the big housing and homeless budget proposal was unveiled yesterday....this is what I've been going crazy on at work over the last few weeks.

Bay Area senators want to spend $5 billion on housing, homelessness

The headline is a little misleading - it's actually the Senate Democrats' proposal, not just the Bay Area senators. We're proposing $5 billion over four years for housing and homelessness programs, which may sound crazy but it's BADLY needed - California is home to one-quarter of the nation's homeless population.

Well, I'd better get back to work. I have to leave early today to get Bam-Bam to the vet. She's basically not limping anymore, but she's really having trouble jumping onto the bed. We got a set of pup steps, but we're having a terrible time getting her to use them, she's terrified of them. Yep, that's my big scary pit bull...

Have a good Thursday!
