Starting Again (Again)

So, I don't expect that this Blog will be particularly interesting, except to me. I've been on and off Sparkpeople since around 2004 and I'm back again now because the last couple of years have been really difficult and I've spent way too much time eating junk and just about surviving. This year I'm back on anti-depressants and had just started getting back to healthy eating and exercise when my doctor decided to do a cholesterol test which came back high. I now have appointments with an exercise physiologist and a dietitian and I have decided to document my journey here.
The first walk I did with my son I just decided to set a timer for 15 minutes and when it went off (or more accurately, when I heard it) I just thought I'll take a photo of where we are and we can see if we can get past here next time. So far we've done the walk 3 times and we haven't got past that point because it turned out that I didn't hear the timer until it had been going for a little while. So each walk I'll post that day's photo here.
The goal is to walk with my son three days a week and do strength training or some other exercise three days a week with one rest day. I also intend to give myself one rest day from tracking my food each week. I know that could be a problem but I'm usually pretty good about making healthy choices when I'm not in survival mode and I think I'm finally past that point.
I don't know what my starting weight is because we don't own a scale. I've decided to track waist, hip, thigh and arm measurements instead because I don't want to have a scale in the house. My oldest son had problems with anorexia when he was a teen and the two who are still at home think that having a scale available to them would increase the pressure for them.
