A busy day today. Got the grass cut. I got it done between rains. Then got ready for my ACTS meeting. My best friend is our Spiritual Companion for the retreat and I was so glad that he was available to do the retreat with me, however tonight he told me that his back had been bothering him a lot lately and went to the doctor and they did an MRI and he has stenosis really bad and will need surgery right away. He will be out at least 2 weeks with complete bed rest. He is not sure if he will be able to finish the retreat. And he has been doing such a great job. And I don't really have any other ideas on a replacement. First and foremost, I am concerned on his condition. Back surgery is very serious. So I have more to pray for now. I am certainly being challenged with this retreat. They say what doesn't break you makes you stronger, so I must be getting really strong! Tomorrow, I go to my doctor for my usual checkup, then have a SVdP Board meeting. These are usually only two hours but they have said the agenda is so large they say it will be at least 3 hours. Then when I get home, I will need to go to the Knights meeting. I have receipts I need to give them from the convention. So it is a busy day going into tomorrow. So I need to get my butt into bed. Hopefully, I can get some sleep tonight. My knee was hurting bad all night. I ended getting up at 5:30 which was way too early.

Do you really know how much more responsibilities you can handle, before none of them get handled correctly. That it what happens to me if I bite off more than I can handle, I end up doing a half ***ed job of all of them. So I stick with just a couple at a time, and have learned to say, NO MORE.

Cutting grass, on a riding mower or a push mower, is hard on the knees. It is no wonder they are hurting so bad tonight. I am very sorry for your friend. I pray he does well.
