11 Days Post Partum

Here we go. I'm done having babies (yay!) And am ready to set some real goals. For years I've been wanting to get into running even though I've never been a runner in the past. Today I looked up local 5k runs happening near me in the next few months. I know that I am more likely to stick to something if I have an event to be ready for. Funds are low for us at the moment so I haven't registered yet but i have my eye on a bubble run taking place September 1st. For many people, a 5k is something they could run in their sleep but for someone who has never in their life run a mile without stopping (points to self) this would be a huge personal acheivement. I figure I'll start with daily walks while on maternity leave especially since I'm not supposed to do much more than that for the first 6 weeks anyway. Hopefully, by the time I'm medically cleared to do more I will have already worked up to it and be ready to start some real running!! What better time to create a new habit than when I'm on leave from work anyway!!? Wish me luck!!

    Don't feel like you have to run the whole 5k. People do a combo of run/walk. Best of luck to you! emoticon And congrats on the baby!
