Advice from Mom
Tuesday, May 15, 2018
My 92-year-old mom, during our Mother's Day buffet brunch together, said to me, "You have to learn to pace yourself, Sue."
And I know she is right (as usual).
During the past 5 months, I have spent only about 4 weeks at home.
Our family was in Spain for a week.
My husband and I spent 3 months in Arizona - during which time I flew home to the northeast twice and flew to California 3 times to spend time with my grandkids.
My husband and I babysat in California for a week.
My husband and I just spent a week sightseeing in California and visiting my son and his family again.
I don't want to get on another airplane for a long time.
I feel tired. My energy is depleted.
I am napping during these days, rather than overeating.
That is one of the benefits of being retired.
So, too, is having the time to travel so much.
However, I do have to learn to better pace myself.
