I am finding that I am my worst enemy in this healthy living journey. I do good for a while and then fall completely off. Before I had my last baby (4 years ago) I was in the best physical shape of my adult life- Now I feel like I am just spinning my wheels and getting more and more stuck.
I want to want to change. I want to push myself physically- I want to push myself mentally- I want make lasting changes. I want to live life to the fullest instead of just feeling like I am surviving.
Sometimes it is hard to know which way to turn- what to do. I hear about this diet, this cleanse, this product and think that will help me be successful. It may work for a while and then I give up.I don't think any of these things are the answer. I think that changing my FOCUS is the answer.
At the beginning of this year I prayed about a motto for this year. And I felt this year's word was FOCUS. FOCUS on 1. God 2. My marriage 3. My family 4. My health. I have lost focus on some of those things but I am ready to Re- Focus.
Some of the ways I will work on Re-Focusing my life are...
- Limiting time on Facebook and Netflix.
---When I want to "escape" from life I often turn to these things- but they leave me feeling more empty and like I don't measure up to other people's lives.
*** Instead I will turn to God when I am feeling low- I will pray or read my bible or sing some worship songs.
To focus on my health...
I have been a part of BLC- Biggest Loser Challenges here on Spark and had good success in the past but I have been unable to recapture some of that success. I am again apart of BLC 37 and committed to completing this challenge- to being engaged in my team and the different aspects of the challenge. When I am feeling low I will reach out to my teammates and try to encourage others.
I am also working my way through the C25k -Couch to 5k program and really liking it!
I find I have the most success when I plan things out- and track food and exercise. And when I have small goals to accomplish consistently. So here is my plan.
Monday - C25K Run
Tuesday - Bike Ride / Crossfit at home
Wednesday - C25K Run / Crossfit at gym
Thursday - Bike ride/ Crossfit at home
Friday - C25K Run
Saturday - Long bike ride
Sunday- X3 Yoga
1) Drink 8+ cups of water daily
2) Eat 5+ freggies a day
3) No wheat or refined sugar
4) Limit caffeine
1)Read Bible and Pray FIRST in the morning.
2) get to bed early so I can get up early
3) FOCUS on God and not myself
