Issue with trying to post regularly is not having much of anything to say. There's a reason the blogs were so sporadic prior to last week
Last night's concert was pretty great. Orphaned Land put on their usual amazing show. And Tyr were more engaging than I remember them being. Think I'll have to check out more of their music.
On the way back up, I stopped at a candy store I noticed the last time I went down to Columbus. Cute little roadside shop with knick knacks in addition to their candies and popcorn. Grabbed a few squares of fudge as add on Mother's Day items for my mom and my sis-in-law, and grabbed some Blueberry Popcorn for my nephew, as his 7th birthday is on Monday, and his favorite color is blue. (My brother has done a good job inculcating him into University of Michigan fandom...Go Blue!)
Speaking of which, I'm about to head back out into this 45 degree Michigan weather (it's 78 right now in Columbus, OH, where I woke up this morning) to go see a book event from author John U Bacon, for his anthology of his favorite stories over the past quarter century. The guy is a fantastic writer, and I'm looking forward to reading this book.
Tomorrow's entertainment will be another concert, this time from the band King's X, which features the greatest gay, black, left handed bassist to ever walk the earth. Granted, that set of filters probably reduces the population of such creatures to a small handful of people, but Doug Pinnick truly is a special musician, adding soulful vocals and otherworldy screams to his thunderous bass output. And yet...the best part of their concerts might be when he just lets the crowd do all the work....seriously goosebump/tear inducing to be a part of this...
(Guess I had something to say after all)
