Another roller coaster week but tolerable

Friday, May 11, 2018

Another soaking of rain last night. Just 1/2 inch but that
brings the week's total to almost 1 1/2 inches. I did try to
plant in the garden last night but there was a thick, hard
crust on the top and mud below. DH and I agreed to back
off for now. No sense to mud radishes and lettuce in now.
He has left for the day with his driver. The man has to pick
up a car in Omaha so they left at 6:30 driving a pickup with
a car trailer. I am so glad not to have that issue. I would
have enough just getting around in a car.
I am hoping this will end the saga of DH's disability rating with
the VA. He currently is at 30% but the doctor with the DAV thinks
it should be 100% since June of 2010. I guess all these appointments
are necessary to get things right.
I will meet with my cardiologist on May 29 to discuss my heart
murmur and echocardiogram from March. Seems odd to wait almost
2 months but it happens. I am keeping a positive attitude.
Have a fit and fabulous Friday and thanks for stopping by.

Good luck with your cardiologist. Mom is meeting with one on the 21st for the potential of heart surgery. We will see. Safe travels with DH heading to Omaha.

Hope this was the final visit for DH and that things will finally be settled. Nothing moves quickly in the medical world anymore!!

Hope you have a great weekend. Happy Mother's Day.

Safe travels for your DH and his friend. It seems as though if the Dr. were concerned the appointment wouldn't have taken so long. Have a good weekend.

If this is any help at all, many years ago when I was much younger I was told that I have a heart murmur and my daughter who is now 38 had a heart murmur as an infant and nothing has come of it for either one of us. I am also told that heart murmurs are a very common thing and many of us have them but not necessarily cause for alarm. (Unlike chest pain)..... I also hope the rain lets up.

Seems that so many of us are doing all the medical things in parallel. I agree that since the appointment is out there a ways they probably aren't that worried about your murmur. Hope you get some good information from it.

Since you don’t see the Dr. for that long, I would assume it is not serious. If it were, they would get you in right away! We had rain and a lot of wind last night!

Medicine is so crazy now! I saw a PA on January 30, and had an injection in my hip. Saw her again a few weeks later, started PT, then called for an appointment with the ortho doc. Nothing available for almost 2 months. I was able to manage an earlier appt with his PA, but the earliest scheduled date for the hip replacement was 6.5 weeks away. He wants me to see the doc before then but the doc isn't available until mid-July! The front desk is hoping to sneak me in for a quick visit before then. We shall see! I also have to see my primary for a pre-surgery check-up, so many appts between now and then. I think they figure we aren't having emergencies! I was tempted to say to the PA, "would it be an emergency if my husband has to carry me in because I can hardly move?" I did tell him I was walking 3+ miles on 4/1, but now can barely make it to the mailbox 4 houses down the street. Oh well...we are patient patients, eh?!

True story VA likes deny delay and prevent more than 7% of Veterans ever receive 100% service connected disability. I submitted my claim 1998, appealed finally 18 yrs later 100% service connected disabled. Prayers

good luck w/your cardiology visit. Seems like the Dr. mustn't be too concerned or the appt. would have been earlier, don't you think?? Just sayin'.

Wishing your DH safe travels and good luck, too.
