Thirteenth Weekend Fasting Cycle with Ketone Testing Strips

For this weekend fasting, I decided to try the Ketone testing strips. I've never done this before and didn't really appreciate the big deal that some people are doing all sort of things to get into ketosis.
The fast was nothing unusual except it was funny when facing with the food samples at Costco. Old habits die hard and I thought about sampling some food until I realized that I was in a fast and there won't be any sample. I continue to drink my AMPK tea (Jiaogulan and lemon peels) as I normally do during the week.
On ketone testing, I read that the liver has enough glycogen to last 24 hour of fasting, so I didn't bother to check until Sun morning @ 9:00 AM. That's about 38 hours into the fast. The test strip shows nothing. No ketones. I thought that it doesn't work and repeated the test. Still no ketones. I gave up and went grocery shopping. When I came back at 2 PM, the test shows moderate ketone level at 0.8. So I got into ketosis somewhere between 38 and 42 hour of fasting. As I said, this is the first time I experimented with this, so it was an eye opener. It also tells me that my 60-hour fast is a good pick, a lucky pick because it takes much longer than 24 hour for me to get into ketosis. Now I know that I have a good 18 hours to burn fat with my 60-hour fast. Next week, I'll try to do more frequent testing on Sun to get a more precise time when I get into ketosis.
