Halfway through HIIT 30 day program, hitting refresh on nutrition

So I'm on day 17 (maybe 18?) of a 30 day program I found on youtube which is 5-day a week, 30 minute HIIT program. I have never tried HIIT before and I wanted to see if shifting to this type of workout combined with jogging a few times a week would give my body the jolt it needed to start losing weight. I've also been trying to cut sugar almost completely out of my diet.
I have been fairly successful with my goals, but I'm not seeing the weight loss I was hoping to. I think I may be eating too many carbs, so I'm trying to do some research and learn how much I really need to be able to fuel my body for the HIIT workouts without overeating. It is a difficult balance, it seems!
I do feel really strong and my endurance and energy are through the roof. These are great pluses, but my number one goal has always been weight loss. Maybe this is the wrong mindset? I don't know.
We will see if I see any drop on the scale as I approach the end of the program and get a little more mindful of the carbs going in. Such an uphill battle! haha
