Healthy Habits Rule!

I cannot stress enough that healthy habits are the key to success!
Diets, well, they fail. They are temporary things we go on and get off of before we regain all of the weight we lost. Healthy habits become permanently etched in our brain’s neuropathways and we start to feel funny if we do anything else. It takes 30 days to start a habit, but it takes a good 6 months to a year to get it set. That’s why you don’t want to give up. Keep at it.

Healthy habits that I’ve started:
Eat from smaller plates
Order one size smaller
Drink more water
Eat more lean protein
Eat more fruits and veggies
Eat more healthy fat
Eat more fiber
Remember that one has less calories than two
Remember that something is better than nothing
Keep easy health snacks at the ready, especially at night
Exercise for 5-10 minutes a few times a day
There are more but you get the idea...

You don’t need to do them all. Just one healthy habit at a time. Just one choice at a time. That’s all it takes.
