I got Mom's Bathroom safety fitted!

We took off the glass doors she had been hanging on to get in and out of the shower (how dangerous is that??), and had this support pole installed. Now she has a shower curtain, which gives her total access to the length of the shower, and a pole to hang onto. The lower towel bar on the wall to the left is actually a fully supported grab bar, and there is a small grab bar on the other side.
Old people fall in bathrooms all the time, especially in showers. She uses a walker, but she can't take her walker into the shower. It's slippery in there, and involves stepping over a threshold. Now I hope she'll become comfortable with the pole. Unlike a grab bar on a wall, she can hang onto it from any side or angle. It will support 300 pounds, so Mom's 120 pounds should be safe.
When she leaves the apartment one day to move on, the shower doors will have to be reinstalled, so they are now stored under her bed.
It's a big job done!
