I got my hair cut this morning. I finally have all of the natural brown hair cut off. I am facing reality that grey hair is cool for somebody my age. Like I stated before: "Dying your hair in your forties and fifties is fooling almost everybody. Dying it in your mid-sixties is not fooling anybody."

When the body looks 65 years old, but the person dyes their hair to fool themselves that they look younger, it only makes the body look even older. A person expects to see a young body that matches the hair, then it is just sad to see it is otherwise. That is my opinion. I see it every day, even in relatives and dear friends.
I am embracing my age, body and mortality.
I did get a lot of walking in this morning, post-haircut. I walked to the jewelers store, but they were not opened up yet, so I walked back to my car, downtown, It was good walk, but in the cold rain.

It was nice to get in a very clean car this morning. We do not get it really dirty, but feet do track in lots of stuff in the winter months. My car is 13 years old, with 58,000 miles on the odometer, so I try to maintain it so it will last until I get a new car.

I just called Paradise to reserve our cabin for August! Kathy said they just got home yesterday due to the large amount of snow on the roads. They took a week longer than usual. I wondered why she did not call me last week. I told her we are ready to pack our bags today!
106 days to Paradise! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I so agree with you on the dying your hair after a certain age. Worked with a gal that was in her late 70's and
she still dyed her hair Jet Black, and really poofy hair style, and when she turned around you were seeing a old woman, that looked way passed her years. I think grey/white hair is VERY attractive, and nothing to be ashamed of.

I've worn my hair long for years... convenient to pull into bun or ponytail...went to a short cut last month, now even a bit shorter...feels good, but I have to remember to put sunscreen on my ears and back of neck. Yay for anticipation of vacation!

Good for you. I think if you feel good about having grey hair - go for it. If not, dye. It is a very personal thing. It is healthier to go grey too.

I am finally starting to get a few gray hairs on the side of my head. My beard has been gray for about 5 years and getting grayer. People are still surprised when they find out how old I am. I guess that's a good thing!

I have silver hair, it will probably go white. I never dyed my hair either because of the money involved. Once you go on the bottle, it is harder to go back, lol!

Some women look good with a blond highlights, but I hate to see black or red hair on someone when it lets you know that it is all fake. Generally their eyebrows are put penciled on too.

Good for you! I don't look at it as gray hair, it's wisdom highlights! Lord, one heckuva lot of wisdom going on! LOL

I say, good for you for embracing yourself the way you are! I actually like my gray hair. I started to turn gray in my early 20s...it runs in the family...and decided then to never dye it. One reason was financial...I thought about all of the money I would have had to spend over decades dying my hair, and also how the chemicals can damage your hair, and thought it wasn't worth it.

Paradise sounds lovely. I think part of the fun of a vacation is the planning and looking forward to it. Enjoy the countdown!
