The new me

Since I started taking care of my health I have lost a bit over 10% of my weight which is what my cardiologist wanted me to do. Not only that but I have lost inches! My pants were to big and always had to pull them up so I went shopping. I drop from size 26/24 to a 20 in pants/jeans and from 3x/2x shirts/blouse to size 20 and XL. I must have been in my early 40's since I've last seen that! Exercise do pay off. Mindful of what we eat does too and drinking water. I have cut on sugar drastically as well. I eat fruit instead of pie or chocolate cake. I eat more fish and less meat, and hardly anything fried except once in a while a fried egg instead of boiled. I want to live the longest healthy life I possibly can

Next week I begin Healthy Heart sessions - a 12 week program for people like me who suffered strokes. I can now put on my socks with an apparel made by the hospital and my laces are made of elastics instead of regular also made by hospital. So blessed to have a therapist who cared....

    funny how that advice about eating right and exercising actually works???

    I don't know what Healthy Heart sessions is, but if it's anything like cardiac rehab which I did 5 years ago, you will love it. It was 3 sessions/week for 12 weeks and got me back into serious cardio + strength + stretching. Now a real gym rat and love to exercise.
