April 30th 2018 - Grateful for healing and progress
Monday, April 30, 2018
Good bye to April and looking forward to May. Long Winter in OH and lots of snow, rain and winds. Where is the Spring? We had a few warm days and it was wonderful. Anxious to have more sunshine and pretty days.
3 weeks down since my Reverse Shoulder Replacement and moving forward, thank goodness.
It is much more involved than I ever dreamed it would be to have this done. Rehab has been twice daily and getting harder exercises now, but all is good. I am so grateful to my family and many close friends who have been here for me. It is amazing how we take having two hands for granted with everything and all of a sudden you have one to use. Have become pretty good with my left hand, but really anxious to have both back.
Have tried to eat healthy but exercise has only been with the PT and some amount of walking. I am really hoping once this rehab is over that I can be back on track with my daily exercise. I am determined but know I need to have patience since it will be awhile before I can do many things with my right arm and shoulder. Patience is a virtue my mom always said, so please mom, send me some each day. (-:
Thanks to many of you dear spark friends for keeping in touch. I will try to do a little more each week to respond to your many nice notes and comments. The arm is still healing but I am gradually able to do more. I am not allowed to Push down with my hand or Push back behind me and many other things. I cannot lift more than a cup of coffee, no driving, no vacuuming, no house chores, and etc etc. So, any way, thanks for reading and keeping me in thoughts and prayers. I am getting there, slow but sure.
Looking forward to May and SUNSHINE and flowers blooming. Hope all of you are doing well and keeping to your routine of healthy eating and activity.
God bless. Lots of hugs, Ei
