Just When I Thought Things Were Settling Down

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

Well, since the end of March, I've been experiencing tingling, numbness, and pain in my right hand. Several times I woke up in the middle of the night with my hand totally dead. My physical therapist strongly suggested that I talk to my surgeon about it, and I have. I saw him yesterday. He's ordered a CAT scan and a Nerve Conduction Velocity test. That's as much fun as it sounds. Not. I'll have the nerve test on Thursday. Have to wait for pre-approval for the scan. Got a new soft collar. Sometimes it helps when I wear it. Sometimes nothing helps. Because of the tingling/numbness, my fine motor skills in my right hand have worsened. I dropped one of my favorite earrings this morning in my bedroom. I looked for it. DH looked for it. I looked again. No joy. So sad. DH gave me those earrings. Heavy sigh. Not a good couple of days. Thank you for reading.

Yikes! That is never a "good" thing when nerves are involved. Glad you are able to get seen & some testing to figure out cause/source. (So sorry for the discomfort & difficulty!) -- As I said recently, "Isn't getting older grand?!" emoticon
Prayers for healing of the cause. The One who made us knows the intricacies of these bodies we live in!

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this! My prayers are certainly with you, my friend!

The last time I lost an earring like that and took the bedroom apart trying to find it, I gave up and on the way to our destination a thought crossed my mind and I reached into my bra, LOL, and there it was! .

Once my hubby lost a contact and I found it in the cuff of his pants.

I promise it will be in the place you are least likely to suspect. It can't fly, so it is somewhere.

Prayers for you. I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I recently lost an earring. It was in my bedroom but I could not find it anywhere. A day or two later, I felt something near my foot. It was my earring which had landed in an odd place. I hope that you find yours.

Dog gone it! I do hope you find the ear ring and that all the testing turns out well. I have been having some numbness in my hands and I thought it was maybe from the way I was sleeping. Ugh...

Take care my sweet friend and I will be praying for good results for you.

I've had that nerve conduction test, it's not painful but it's not comfortable. My issue was carpal tunnel. Now I've got a bit of neuropathy from the chemo...it's always something. Hopefully they are able to pinpoint the cause of your hand pain and treat it easily.

At least the earring is somewhere in the bedroom so you may just find it after all. Perhaps try using a flashlight even with the lights on, it might pick up a glittering bit so you can find it.

    Sending hugs, keep us posted!

I have had that test and no, not fun. I have neuropathy, not fun either. I hope the tests will give you the answers you need so they can correct the problem. The earring will show up. I dropped mine the other day and found it this morning when looking for a puzzle piece. Prayers for you. emoticon

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have had nerve conduction studies related to carpel tunnel
surgery. It's a uncomfortable test but is necessary to find if there's a trapped nerve. emoticon
