Beck Day off today

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

Tonight, I teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to a small group of adults. I spent the heart of my day preparing my lessons. My students all have a large vocabulary of words but struggle to answer simple questions. Native speakers speak too rapidly, use too many contractions and use idioms that only make sense in English for them to easily decipher.

Tonight we will play a game with flash cards, use clip art pictionary sheets to learn action verbs and learn to turn a sentence into a question and pull the two most important words out of a question. They are also going to learn the meaning of common idioms for give. Give in, Give out, Give Away, Gimme, Give back, Give up, Give off, etc.

We laugh a lot and the times flys ( passes quickly).
