Starting off on the wrong foot.

Well, today got off to a bad start. I went to my usual coffee klatch at Panera Bread, and when I requested my usual Oatmeal, I was told that they were out! Oh, Oh, now what? Everyone else had picked up a scone, so I got one too. Unfortunately, I chose one that was frosted, not thinking about the extra calories, as I was flustered as there was a line forming behind me. So instead of a relatively healthy meal of 370 calories, I ended up with a 770 calorie overload. It was very good, but actually quite sweet...definitely should have chosen an unfrosted one at least. The rest of the day did not go too badly after that, at least.
Yesterday, I had a doctor's appointment and learned that my average glucose was on the high side, and my lipids had gone up. So instead of starting two new pills (metformin and a statin) I opted to see how things were going at my next appointment. So now I have an added incentive to eat healthier and get more exercise! I do not want to take any more meds and I do want to be healthier. Hopefully I will be able to do that....stay tuned!
I will quit babbling now and think about getting to bed, so I can get up and head out to water aerobics in the morning. Good Night! Lynel
