springs in the air

Thursday, April 19, 2018

Sun finally starting to shine here in Michigan. Prompted me to not only go to the gym today but take a nice walk in the woods by my house. I continue to struggle with my eating, especially at nite. Charts are telling me to keep it at 1800 call a day to lose a pound a week. Prior to starting spark people on the 15th, I was eating about 3600 a day. I've got myself on 2200 now but literally feel like I'm starving to death, starting about now every nite. I hope that eventually goes away......

I remember when I turned 50 I was doing exactly what you are doing now. Keep it up even if it is slow go. You will not be disappointed. I am now 67 and regained a lot of the weight that I lost back then. Now I feel almost desperate to take off weight and get in shape just to save my life. So pretty lady, do it now while you are still young. Find something fun, like the walks with your Mom that you like doing. I love putting on my favorite music and dancing like a crazy person. And now that the weather is turning to spring it is so fun to spend more time outdoors. Good luck and I am always here for support if you need a spark of motivation. emoticon -- Joann

Tracker=Truth Truth is not to be feared - I was right where you were 50 or so days ago, and have safely lost over 7 by just cleaning up my eating and moving more- no fancy gyms/ diets...good common sense small steps add up!!!

Keep up the great work, you are going in the right direction. You are right we are all over eating and eating more calories than we ever realized when we weren't tracking. Even if you started off slow...0.5 pound a week...maybe you need to up your calorie intake to decrease it slower. Just saying give yourself...like two weeks with a little higher calorie intake then the next two weeks...a little lower. let your body adjust, you were giving it a dream and now its panicking. All I can say is I just kept super busy, keep moving- activity= burning calories. DRINK water...it fools your brain. For a while anyways. ( popcorn) at night helped me for a bit...not super late, and no butter and limited amount but it did help as a treat. Like filler for your belly. DAY 4 is not day 2! you are doing great!

It will get easier! I found it helped to have a few go-to low calorie snacks that I could grab at the end of the day when the hungries started. That way I didn't give myself a chance to give into bigger temptations or eat out of control. After a couple of weeks I found I didn't need them anymore. Hang in there, we all understand what it's like to try and reverse years of bad habits. emoticon

I'm trying to do that but I still have to adjust to so many years of bad eating habits. I'm only on day 4 here so praying it gets a bit easier as time goes on. Like today, I ate all my planned calories by 4 o clock and have been starving ever since!

Just try to stay consistent and eventually you'll get it. Don't ever give up! I'm not sure if you're doing this or not, but if you try to eat little healthy snacks throughout the day, that should help curve the hunger pangs.
