Day 2314- Where I've Been
Friday, April 13, 2018
Allow me to reintroduce myself. It's been a month and a half since I last blogged, and I think that might be the longest I've ever "been away" from SparkPeople.
Luckily, I didn't fall off the wagon and gain a bunch of weight back. I've maintained here in the 230-235 range the entire time. But it's still hard to come back and admit I haven't done anything to greatly improve my health or fitness.
Since February 6th, my brother has been in an out of the hospital 3 times, on the ventilator each time. It's been scary. My mom has made constant trips back there to be with him, which means I've had to focus a lot more of my free time on watching Henry. Thankfully, my brother finally seems to be in good health and will actually be moving back here with my parents until he can get back on his feet, so that will be less stress on my mom.
That combined with the strangest Spring ever here in Ohio (with snowstorms into April) has meant no training for my half marathon. Thankfully it's still in September so I have plenty of time to get back at it. But I really wanted to be starting at a lower weight. Running is tough in the 230s. I know I've done it before, but it really is disheartening feeling like this process is going to take forever. Especially since I know that when I did this before, I just buckled down and lost 91 pounds in the first year.
But I'm back. For now. I'll try to update after I put Henry to bed. He's been fighting naps like a champ lately so that also makes me stressed out and busy but I've just got to make it work somehow.
Henry turns one in 12 days, which is just crazy to me. But he's still perfect and wonderful as always. Oh an I bought a minivan. Life-changing. Love it.
So here's to new drive and dedication. I can do this. I can do this.
