Who in the heck decided that grown kids who still live at home are no longer your dependents? Who decided that 17 is too old for a parent to get a child tax credit for? I'm beyond frustrated. Do 'they' not understand that the older the kids get the MORE expensive they are? Those age cut offs are NOT well thought out. So, for the first time in my entire life, we will not be getting back anything to put in our savings, however, we will have to find some money to add with the little savings we have and send it to the government! Beyond frustrating. Don't even get me started on those getting "refunds" of more than they paid in, or even for those who paid in NOTHING. How does one get a REFUND from nothing paid? Can you imagine going to Walmart and saying I want a refund... for nothing?
Ok... Rant over. In reality I am thankful to live in this country, and for the jobs we have.
Still gotta pay. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these same gripes about the ages of kids still at home verses claiming as dependents and getting the child tax credit. Those days are over for me. I will adjust.
Indeed it is confusing and frustrating. I agree with most points in your rant..and I agree I am glad I live here..but I also think that the ones that dream up..write and pass the laws ..should have to live by them. That goes for taxes, health care and many other issues. 103 days ago
Try running a business. I hate tax time every year. You pay in and what do you get for that money?? When you figure it out let me know. I also found out my boys are still at risk drivers until they get marred or turn 29!! How fair is that?? I am in NJ!! Hope I can get to sleep now.. hugz.. 103 days ago
The tax breaks some people and / or corporations received are obscene. I, too, am happy to live in this country, but not under an administration that gives tax breaks to millionaires while the middle and lower class get almost nothing. 103 days ago
