Saturday morning

Saturday, April 07, 2018

I am feeling a little better today. I am eating solid food, but am not going anywhere.

Yesterday was THE most bizarre weather I have ever seen. When I woke up, there was a blizzard. Visibility was about ten feet. After about two hours,it stopped, abruptly. Within another two hours, most of that snow melted! After about another hour, it started blowing and snowing for about fifteen minutes, The sun then came out, the wind came to gale forces, then the snow melted again. This happened all day, every few minutes, until about nine o'clock. The sky then became blue before darkness came for the night. The winds continued for a couple hours.
It just kept snowing hard, covering the ground, then melted, then snowed again, etc. Winds were about 35 mph.

Thank you to all who sent me goodies or emails. They are so appreciated.,
This morning there is no breeze, blue sunny skies, no snow anywhere, except the old drift piles. It is still in the thirties with frozen puddles, but very weird weather. A native Michigander, I can say that, regardless of previous weather in any season, this was the oddest I have ever seen.

Poor Mother Earth is so screwed up! I think the weather patterns will continue to be scary. I just hope and pray we don't get another hurricane like we got last year...scared the bejabbers out of me and caused SO MUCH destruction. Roofers are a year behind on fixing roofs...we still have a bunch in our neighborhood with blue tarps on them.

Be safe - that sounds like perfect conditions for black ice. I am glad you're feeling better and hope that the weather improves too! Big hugs.

I'm glad you're feeling better, and that you're able to stay home and watch the crazy weather through a window. 💙

We were coming home from Lansing, Michigan and ran into a cloudburst, a gully-washer. People pulled off the road under overpasses and cars pulled into lanes because you couldn't see; there was that much water on the windshield! The parking lots at travel plazas had a couple of inches of rain on them. A man fell trying to run to a travel plaza and slid maybe 20 feet, maybe he hydroplaned in the water.

Another fellow fell on the tile floor inside a travel plaza because his shoes were soaked. A rainbow shone through all of that water and the strangest thing was that it looked like it was right ahead of us and we could see one end of it. It felt like we should have been able to go under it like you would pass through an arch. It was like it stayed right in front of our car and it was that way for over half an hour. It rained hard the whole time we drove through Ohio.
