When I moved to Orlando a couple of years ago I found a new Family Physician. I remember well her walking in and looking at me and saying "This weight can't be correct, you don't look this heavy". That in a nutshell has been my problem for all these years, from the external view I don't seem 'obese' but from the molecular, organ systems level I was a sinking ship; my cholesterol was rising rapidly, my BP was literally out of control, pre-diabetes, achy joints, depression. My last visit to her was at the end of Nov. and she said don't worry about losing weight until after the holidays..."enjoy yourself"! Well I took that literally and gained 12 pounds by New Years Day. I have lost that 12 pounds and have changed my mindset on weight loss, I have goals to meet in order to obtain my ultimate goals of the best person I can become. My minds' eye sees that healthy & happy woman dressed to kill, unafraid of lab results,scales and photos. I've learned how to proceed with a SMART approach: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic & Timely goals. I look for inspiration/motivation on a daily and sometimes more often basis. I CAN DO THIS!!! emoticon
